Día de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a holiday celebrated on November 1 and 2 in Mexico and other areas in the Americas. It honors the lives and memories of family members and friends that moved on. This year, Pokémon GO is joining in this tradition.
In the game, it’s going to be celebrated on the same dates. For the duration of the event, trainers can look forward to these bonuses:
- Lure Modules last for 90 minutes.
- Incense lasts for 90 minutes.
- 2× Catch Stardust
There are extras for trainers in Latin America and the Caribbean. These include:
- +1 Bonus Transfer Candy
- Featured event Pokémon appear even more often in the wild.
- Featured event Pokémon is attracted even more frequently to Incense.
- Featured event Pokémon is attracted even more frequently to Lure Modules.
In addition to the bonuses, everyone has the chance to grab freebies with the free event box, which contains 20 Poké Balls and an Incense. Then, there is the Día de Muertos T-shirt avatar item, also available for free.
