Oasis, Overwatch's newest map
Oasis, Overwatch's newest map Blizzard

Completely surprising everyone, a new Overwatch patch just dropped. In it, we get a ton of bug fixes and a brand new map, one that I’ve been dying to play. Oasis is a new Control map where players head to a technological marvel sprung up in the middle of an Arabian desert. There’s a giant, foreboding pillar in the background alongside omnic butlers, a gorgeous garden and a whole bustling town.

Oasis is the first Overwatch map to feature jump pads and moving cars. Fans will be finding new ways to interact (and break) these features alongside the ton of other cool stuff out in this wasteland. When the map was on the PTR, I got a chance to try it out and I can say it’s the most unique map in the game. Every hero, from Roadhog to Widowmaker can be played efficiently. There are plenty of hidden ledges, sniper peaks and open spaces to go have the most hectic and epic team fights.

The Diablo sprays have also been added in this update.

If you want to know what the signs located all over the map mean, reddit user supersonicfun123 has already done the leg work. What the story of Oasis is, we don’t know yet, but it looks like we will be fighting over key “ministries” in the town that might hold important data the bad guys want to get ahold of.

The Oasis Overwatch patch is available on PC, Xbox One and PS4. Just turn on your system of choice and start downloading.
