Power! Get the power! Blizzard

It looks like Blizzard is trying to attract new players with a new collaboration with One-Punch Man. This is now live in Overwatch 2 and introduces players to a wide range of collectible cosmetics based on this globally popular anime. This collection marks the first time that the Overwatch universe has entered into a collaboration. With this, more crossovers are likely to come in this action game.

One-Punch Man tells the story of Saitama, a loveable superhero who can defeat any enemy with a single punch and has become bored from a lack of formidable challengers.

For this collab, the development team revealed that they wanted to do it in a manner that shows the heroes in the game celebrating Saitama and his friends. The team went on to say that when they reviewed the roster, it was clear that Doomfist was a perfect fit in wearing the iconic yellow suit and white cape. Meanwhile, Genji also gets a new look representing the cybernetic brawler Genos. Then, there's Kiriko who, without a doubt, was the best fit for Terrible Tornado. Finally, the Mumen Rider skin for Soldier 76.

Each of these One-Punch Man skins are offered as part of special store bundles which come with other new One-Punch Man cosmetics. All three bundles can also be purchased together at a discount. This collection of cosmetics is available through the in-game shop until April 6.

New Challenges

There are also new challenges available where players can earn as many as six different free rewards. To get the chance, players need to simply queue up in any Unranked, Competitive, or Arcade mode. The rewards are:

  • 4 games played – Saitama’s Fist Weapon Charm
  • 8 games played – Mumen Rider Name Card

  • 16 games played – Justice Crash Highlight Intro for Soldier: 76
  • 20 games played – Boros Weapon Charm

In a statement, Blizzard Entertainment President Mike Ybarra shared that as fans of the anime, they're excited to offer this new collaboration to many players around the world.
