MLB The Show 17 has been out for a few weeks and the reviews of the game have been very positive. Fans and critics have been raving about realism and the in-depth features that make MLB The Show one of the best games on the market. Despite all the positives and praise heaped on the game, online issues are hurting the game and leaving a bad taste in the mouths of many.

One patch has been released to fix some of the online issues that were in MLB The Show 17 from launch. However, this came after the MLB The Show servers were not working on launch day, which prevented many from starting their Diamond Dynasty teams along with other modes within the game. Sony is very aware of the issues that are plaguing MLB The Show and they released a statement telling fans that they are working on the issues.

“Since launch, we have identified and addressed a number of issues related to online gameplay – from freezes and hangs, to longer than normal wait times for the game processing queue. We’re still all hands on deck working to remedy outstanding issues.”

“We have been and continue to work hard to resolve the remaining issues; a new patch is currently underway and we are committed to updating you as soon as we have new information to report. We appreciate all of the valuable feedback and reports the community has sent our way. Understandably, this can be a frustrating time for many of you, and in acknowledgement of that frustration we are planning to give in-game content to all of you.”

Bryan Wiedey of Pasta Padre reported that the servers for MLB The Show 17 may have been at their worst on Friday since the first few days after the game's release.

Along with the latest online update from Sony, more news about MLB The Show 17 was shared as well. It was announced that the first roster update that was set to be released on Apr. 14 would be delayed by a week to Friday, Apr. 21. This is a major issue for fans who may want to begin their journey through Franchise mode in the game. The initial roster update is usually the one that players use to start their seasons so now the wait continues for many. Many fans that prefer not to wait for the first update have turned to the Operation Sports MLB The Show 17 roster update to fill the void.
