We finally have a list of games that will be available on the Oculus Rift, when the highly-anticipated VR headset begins shipping later this month, and anyone worried the Rift might not have enough software support launch can finally start putting those fears to bed.
Earlier this week, Oculus hosted a massive preview event in San Francisco, giving developers and select members of the press an opportunity to see 41 games currently being developed for the Rift. Now, the company has confirmed 30 of the games shown during Oculus Game Days will be available for the Rift at launch, with representatives of just about every major gaming genre on the list. In fact, only a handful of the 41 games shown this week haven’t been confirmed for a 2016 debut.
Obviously, fans can still look forward to previously announced projects like EVE Valkyrie and Lucky’s Tale, both of which will be included with the first round of Oculus Rift pre-orders. But we can also look forward to lesser known projects, like Chronos or Airmech: Command, that help establish the Rift as something useful for more than just cockpit games. It’s also worth noting that all of the games with undetermined release dates are Oculus Touch titles. So we can probably expect to see many of those games, if not the entire list, around the same time Oculus releases its VR controller.
Without further ado, here’s the full list of Oculus Rift launch games:
