NHL 17 comes out Tuesday, and hardcore hockey fans will be able to start playing right at midnight if they know where to go. Downloading via PSN or Xbox Live is always an option, but if you want to bump some elbows with other hockey fans, you’ll want to call your local retailers to see if they have any plans.

Regardless of where you pre-order from, NHL 17 will come with 10 additional Gold Packs for Hockey Ultimate Team. One pack will be given when you first log-in, and the other packs will come once a week each Sunday. According to the Best Buy information page, players can miss redeeming a pack, so make sure you play weekly from now until March 19, 2017.

All pre-orders of NHL 17 also come with the equipment bundle for EASHL. This new equipment allows you to customize your player, making them look fabulous. The skins do not provide any boost in stats though, they are purely cosmetic. Additionally, those who pre-order can unlock the NHL 94 team celebrations, allowing you to recreate the classic hockey game in NHL 17.

Check out GameStop’s store locator for details about where you can find your local retailer and pick up NHL 17. If GameStop's not your thing, Best Buy and other retailers will offer the rewards as well. Check out which of the Best Buys near you open at midnight for the release of NHL 17 by checking their online store locator.

If you're getting your copy of NHL 17 from either Target or Walmart then you'll need to call your local store and find out if they're doing a midnight release. Every location is different so your local store might not be doing an NHL 17 midnight release. Use the Target store locator and Walmart store locator to find out which place near you will let you get skating first.
