A new D&D adventure for Dungeons and Dragons 5th Edition is coming March 15, says publisher Wizards of the Coast. The latest fantasy RPG rulebooks have seen a high level of praise since it was released back in 2014. Hopefully this new adventure is equally well-received as it tasks players with a return to Castle Ravenloft and Barovia.

Called Curse of Strahd , the new D&D adventure will pit players against the classic villain Strahd von Zarovich the vampire. To make the adventure even more exciting for hardcore fans, Tracy and Laura Hickman have helped collaborate on the new quest. The Hickmans served as the authors of the original Ravenloft adventure published in 1983.

"Revisiting the land of Barovia with the creators of the original Ravenloft adventure has been a highlight of my professional career," said Chris Perkins in a press statement . Perkins is the principal story designer at Wizards of the Coast. "Tracy and Laura Hickman created a timeless villain whose faults reflect the darkest traits of humanity. I can't begin to describe what it's like to walk through the halls of Castle Ravenloft with its creators as your guides."

As one could expect, the land of Barovia is filled with all sorts of evil monsters and bad omens. Players will have to find a mysterious fortune-teller named Madam Eva to get through the adventure. Drawing random cards from her tarokka deck, Eva will help direct adventurers to search Strahd's domain for some clues as to how to bring the vampire down.

To help you get fully immersed in the world and story, a physical tarokka deck is actually getting made for the campaign. The cards, which are getting produced by Gale Force 9, will be available alongside the adventure’s release. They will mostly be helpful for the DM, but definitely increase the replayability of the campaign thanks to randomizing various item locations.

Curse of Strahd will be available to purchase starting on March 15.
