The numbers are here and players can finally see which games have been downloaded the most on the PlayStation Store for November. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has been crowned the winner though it does not come as a surprise.
Developed by Infinity Ward, the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II instantaneously became a massive hit. While Sony’s God of War Ragnarok claimed the first spot across the US, Canadian, and European PS5 charts, the latest Call of Duty iteration earned the title of being the most downloaded PS4 game of November.
While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s pole position finish on PS4 outperformed God of War Ragnarok, the latter’s PS5 first-place run is still incredible. Otherwise, it would have not set a record for being the fastest-selling first-party PlayStation game. Modern Warfare II, though, has been crushing record after record on PlayStation, especially after it saw $800 million in sales – a feat it acquired in just three days. Plus, it had the biggest launch of all time for the franchise in the PlayStation store.
Elsewhere on the charts, Electronic Arts has a lot to be thankful for. This is due to the fact that both FIFA 23 and Madden NFL 23 performed really well. On the other hand, older games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Grand Theft Auto V, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales share the stage with new favorites Gotham Knights and Sonic Frontiers.
Cyberpunk 2077 continues to hold the PS5 fifth spot in Europe, an achievement it conquered last month. Interestingly, the game is expected to continue its top finish on the charts, especially after the announcement of next year’s Phantom Liberty expansion. For fans who missed it, the said expansion will introduce English Actor Idris Elba to the in-game universe.
Sony has compiled a list, which can be seen below, of the most downloaded PlayStation games. Also, an updated list of the US’ top sellers across digital and physical retail has been revealed courtesy of The NPD Group. Not even Elden Ring , the critically acclaimed title of From Software, could stop the Call of Duty franchise from adding yet another best-seller accolade to its name.
