Moonbreaker is a turn-based strategy and tabletop tactics game from Unknown Worlds and Krafton. It's set to be launched on Steam Early Access this September 29. Even before that, players get the chance to experience the game early with the Steam Preview Weekend playtests.

There are two schedules. The first from September 9 to September 11, and the second one from September 16 to September 18. To join, players need to:

  • Log into Steam.
  • Search for "Moonbreaker."
  • Click the "Request Access" button on the "Join the Moonbreaker Playtest" section.
  • Confirm the request.

The main goal of the playtests is to stress test the servers. That means all participants are encouraged to:

  • Stream their gameplay.
  • Upload their clips.
  • Share their paint jobs with the world.

All custom paint jobs created during the Steam Preview Weekend playtests are saved so players can access them if they buy the game when it finally launches on early access.

Here are the important details during playtests:

  • Testers get access to the entire game, though some in-game systems and the store are disabled.
  • Testers are given immediate access to all Season 1 Units and Captains for the playtests.
    • Units and Captains need to be unlocked once that game enters Early Access.
    • This process for the playtests has been streamlined mainly due to the limited time frame, and to make sure that the development team can monitor the initial impressions.
  • All progress is wiped once the Preview Weekend playtests conclude.
    • The player paint jobs are carried forward.
  • Preview access may be limited based on location.
  • The tests are meant to push the servers to their limits, so interruptions and/or emergency maintenance can and will likely occur.
  • The dates and times are subject to change.
    • The team assured everyone that they'll do their best to announce any schedule changes as far in advance as possible.
  • It's worth noting that localization and in-game language support is not final, nor representative of the early access launch experience.
