Mass Effect Community Fixing Issues in the Remaster

Mass Effect Legendary Edition
Mass Effect Legendary Edition IGN

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition was released on May 14 to a positive reception. The game is a collection of the lauded trilogy consisting of Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, and Mass Effect 3. This edition is basically a remaster of these originals and introduced a hefty amount of graphical and technological improvements.

Some of the notable improvements include major graphical overhauls, such as better lighting, models, special effects, and textures. Additionally, on the next-gen consoles, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition loads much faster than it did previously, thanks to the faster SSD storage. Interestingly, BioWare has also allowed gamers to skip certain elements in the games like the elevator rides. The game supports quality and performance modes as well, which allow gamers to customize their gaming experience based on preference. However, choosing quality over performance locks the game at a lower frame rate to maintain visual fidelity.

While the game does come with many bells and whistles, several important things seem to have been overlooked and are now being addressed by the community. One of the things that most gamers noticed when booting up and playing the game, is the narrow FOV and funnily enough, the game doesn't even feature a FOV slider in the graphics or display menu. Luckily for PC gamers, modder JadeBarker has released a FOV mod called the Better Camera (Higher FOV) for all three games in the remaster. The mod contains three FOV settings: 80, 90, and 100, and installing it is pretty simple. You download the preferred FOV preset and move it to the following location:

"Mass Effect Legendary EditionGameME1(ME2 or ME3 depending on the one you're modding)BioGameCookedPCConsole."

After modding your game, boot up ME: LE and press F10 to activate the mod. You should see an instant change in the FOV. Don't forget to create a backup of the Coalesced.bin file before you install the mod.

For those with ultra-wide monitors, download the popular Flawless Widescreen software, which now supports widescreen resolutions for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition . Flawless Widescreen also allows you to adjust the game's FOV from within the software.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
