A new DLC is coming to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe this December 7 and it’s going to make racing even more exciting. That’s because the Booster Course Pass Wave 3 will add eight new courses to the game. With this, 24 of the 48 courses in the Booster Course Pass can now be played.

There’s a lot to look forward to in Wave 3. There are the frolicking fields of DS Peach Gardens, for example. Players can also enjoy the frosty merriment that is Merry Mountain, with its seasonal sights and sounds that everyone can take in while cruising around frigid peaks and towering pines of the track.

Wave 3 is also set to feature the Rock Cup and Moon Cup and players can expect to see classic courses that appeared from the Mario Kart series across Wii, Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, Nintendo 3DS and Mario Kart Tour games. Each course can be played locally or online. The Cups are divided into:

  • Rock Cup
    • Tour London Loop
      • Prepare to confuse rivals as you drift around familiar landmarks and into first place in this England-inspired course originating from the mobile game Mario Kart Tour.
    • GBA Boo Lake
      • Be ready to get your feet wet on this spooky and Boo filled track set on a haunted lake in this course that originated in Mario Kart: Super Circuit.
    • 3DS Rock Rock Mountain
      • This high-altitude course offers not only careful and sharp turns but also bouncing boulders.
      • Here’s a tip to get you ahead: Ramp over a warp pipe to put some wind in your sails.
    • Wii Maple Treeway
      • Leap through the fall foliage and race across massive trees on this course from Mario Kart Wii.
      • Just don’t disturb the Wigglers enjoying an autumnal stroll.
  • Moon Cup
    • Tour Berlin Byways
      • Watch out for falling Whomps and Thwomps when you make your way around the stunning sights in this course from Mario Kart Tour.
    • DS Peach Gardens
      • Chirping birds, bopping Chain Chomps, and fields of flowers flourish. They’re all on this course set in the vast gardens of Peach’s castle from Mario Kart DS.
      • Can you spot all the familiar topiaries?
    • Merry Mountain
      • Hit the halfpipe and bank up the snowy hills on this charmingly festive course from Mario Kart Tour.
      • It features massive candy canes and wrapped gifts galore.
    • 3DS Rainbow Road
      • Rainbow Road winds and twists around multiple planetoids on this celestial course that originated in Mario Kart 7 on Nintendo 3DS.

Upcoming Waves

While there are already a lot of new courses available, that’s just half of what’s coming. There are three more waves arriving and each one comes with eight courses each. All of them are going to be released by the end of 2023.

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is a kart racing game released exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
