In a new statement, publisher Square Enix and developers Don’t Nod Entertainment and Deck Nine Games have announced a September 27 release date for Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection, two remasters of the first Life is Strange games for Nintendo Switch. This collection will be made available via digital and physical retails, and includes Life is Strange: Remastered and Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered. Check out the official announcement Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection made on Twitter below.

It’s worth noting that this same collection was first released on consoles and PC under different names; on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, it launched as Life is Strange: Remastered Collection , while on PC via Steam it was released separately as Life is Strange: Remastered and Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered. While the titles differ, Square Enix has not indicated that these games are distinct from their other console and PC counterparts, despite the Nintendo Switch-exclusive tagline the publisher included on the official page.

The game is now up for pre-orders (physically) on the official Square Enix site, where the whole Life is Strange: Arcadia Bay Collection retails for $39.99. It’s also worth noting that the only included physical copy is for Life is Strange: Remastered; a separate download code will be provided for Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered. That said, both games feature Switch-optimized visuals across characters and environments, although there’s no mention of whether the games will run at 60 frames per second and at what resolutions.

Life is Strange: Remastered tells a story from the perspective of Max Caulfield, a seemingly normal teenager who has somehow gained the ability to control time. She must use this new power to uncover the secrets of Arcadia Bay alongside her best friend Chloe Price before the whole town gets wiped out by a massive storm.

Life is Strange: Before the Storm Remastered, on the other hand, is a prequel of sorts to Life is Strange, focusing on Chloe’s adventures before meeting up with Max. The game includes a special Zombie Crypt outfit for Chloe, which players can wear during their playthrough of Life is Strange: Before the Storm.
