GOTY award-winning indie game Journey will be available for purchase on Steam starting on June 11. The game was initially launched back in 2012 for PlayStation 3. A PC port was released seven years later and was exclusive to the Epic Games Store. The duration of the exclusivity deal is one year and will end in June. The announcement was made via the official Twitter handle for Journey's PC publisher Annapurna Interactive.

Journey takes place in a massive desert where you play as a mysterious figure. Players solve puzzles and can even interact with other players, however, interaction is only limited to musical chimes. You cannot communicate via audio or chat. You can check out the trailer for the game below.

Journey is a critically acclaimed game praised by both fans and critics. It won several awards including game of the year, and much praised was directed toward its beautiful soundtrack. The game received a 9/10 rating from IGN and 10/10 from GameSpot. It was developed by Thatgamecompany and was published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation devices. The game received new publishers, Annapurna Interactive, for a PC and iOS release. Annapurna Interactive is known for releasing high-quality indie games and the company also published Outer Wilds and Florence.

Journey is an exceptional game and a must-try for every player out there. If you cannot wait for a couple of months for the Steam launch then you can also purchase the game on the Epic Games Store for only $6.

It is also one of the very few PlayStation exclusive titles to get a PC release. Sony has normally held a tight grip on its exclusives, but recently some games have found their way to other platforms. However, most of them are third-party games including Heavy Rain, Death Stranding, and Beyond: Two Souls. The only first-party Sony game that has confirmed a PC launch is Horizon Zero Dawn which will launch on Steam this Summer.

So what do you think? Are you planning to buy Journey on Steam? Have you already played the game via EGS or on a PlayStation console? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
