‘Impact Wrestling’ Reboot: 3 Questions The Company Must Answer After New Start

What else is in store for the new Impact Wrestling?
What else is in store for the new Impact Wrestling? Impact Wrestling

The last three weeks has seen major changes in the company formerly known as TNA Wrestling. The newly renamed Impact Wrestling has seen new talent, new production elements and new storylines since the company was “rebooted” less than a month ago. Many are calling this a rebirth in the 15-year history of the wrestling company. Others are calling this reboot just another in a long line of reboots that has occurred in TNA/Impact that all failed in the past.

Since the beginning of this new era of Impact Wrestling, three questions for the company and what’s been going on television have emerged. Let’s start with the biggest question after this week’s Impact Wrestling.

What Will The Role Of Karen Jarrett Be On TV?

Karen Jarrett returned to Impact Wrestling this week and the questions has been flying since. Will she be on television every week? What will her role be? Will she have a backstage role?

It was to be assumed that Karen would reappear at some point with her husband and TNA founder Jeff Jarrett back at the helm of creative for the company. But does this mean that we will see Jeff Jarrett sooner than later? I really hope we don't see Jeff on television, but Karen with an on-screen role could be interesting. Impact Wrestling hasn't had an on-screen authority figure in a long time.

However, the problem that Impact Wrestling will have to avoid is over-exposure of an authority figure on television. Just look at Stephanie McMahon and Triple H in the WWE and how old their bit is now. Karen Jarrett in doses could do some good, but if it's multiple segments per week, it could spell disaster for Impact Wrestling.

Is EC3 Turning Heel?

EC3 came out during Jarrett’s reintroduction to Impact Wrestling and something struck me...are they turning EC3 heel? After his loss to Alberto El Patron, it seemed that EC3 started losing his mind and a heel tease started. The problem is that so much time has been spent turning EC3 into a fan favorite that he might not get booed by fans.

EC3 is the only organically created star that TNA/Impact ever created. He came from the WWE system, but was a lesser known personality when he came in as Ethan Carter III. He should be the centerpiece of Impact Wrestling and no matter what direction the company goes, EC3 should be a major part of it. A heel turn would be a fresh turn for him and opens up many interesting feuds, especially with El Patron going forward.

Is It Time For Impact Wrestling To Move From Orlando ?

Universal Studios has been very good to Impact Wrestling for years. It is the company's home base, especially when things were lean for the company over the last two years. It is getting to that point, however, that in order for the company to truly have a reboot, the environment needs to change and that means leaving Universal Studios and Orlando.

Keep this in mind... entry to the Impact Zone is free. So Impact Wrestling makes no money for tickets when they tape shows for television, pay-per-view, or anything which will continue to hurt their bottom line. It is time to figure out a way to move away from Orlando and find a new home. They can not go live and/or tape in many different places due to finances, so they may have to find a viable place where they could draw paying customers.

They need a new place to have their shows with a new crowd and a new air to their tapings. That’s the only way Impact Wrestling to have a true rebirth...just move.
