A major update for Hunt: Showdown has made its way into the test server, and it adds a new quest system and two new grunt variants.

Quest System

The new quest system is called Summons, and it replaces the daily/weekly challenges featured in the game. Upon completion of a quest, players will receive up to six stars. Players can progress two quests at the same time, and if they want to add in a third slot, they must have the Blood Bonds. After gathering 30 stars, players will earn 25 Blood Bonds and this is only claimable once a week. If you are short on time and want to gather the stars quickly, you can keep repeating an easy quest. But the extra rewards are only exclusive to the first completion.

Five types of quests reward stars:

  • Simple Quests: Easy to complete and anyone can access these quests but players can only earn up to two stars per quest.
  • Core Gameplay Quests: These quests are part of the main gameplay that include defeating bosses, getting bounties, and gathering clues. These quests grant players between two and three stars per quest.
  • PvP Quests: For players who prefer PvP modes, these quests are the best option for getting three to four stars.
  • Hardcore Quests: If you are a veteran and looking for a challenge, complete Hardcore Quests to get five stars.
  • Legendary Quests: These require the use of legendary hunters or weapons to complete, but success means a whooping six stars!

Grunts

Two new grunt variants are added: the Pistol Grunt and Lantern Grunt. The Pistol Grunt wields a broken pistol and uses melee attacks against hunters, which causes it to explode and ring out a loud gunshot sound. The best way to take care of these grunts is to keep distance as much as possible.

The Lantern Grunt wields a lantern that can be lit or unlit. These grunts also fight at melee range, and if the grunts hit hunters with a lit lantern, it can cause a small explosion that sets the player on fire. On the other hand, if a grunt hits the hunter with an unlit lantern, it will drench the player in oil that can be ignited. So, keep your distance too from this grunt.
