E3 and its many other gaming event counterparts may have been put on hold for the foreseeable future, but that does not mean that our progress through gaming’s next generation will be halted. This time around, Microsoft has decided to draw first blood, as the tech giant has formally announced a gameplay special for their next gen console, the Xbox Series X. Check out the official tweet from Xbox below.

A week from now, on May 7, we will be seeing the first ever gameplay videos for titles debuting on the Xbox Series X, as the next Inside Xbox presentation will be dedicated to Microsoft’s new hardware. For those interested in watching this deep dive into the Series X, as well as what kind of games and performances can it handle, check out how to watch the presentation below.

How to watch the Xbox Series X gameplay presentation

The Inside Xbox: Xbox Series X edition will be airing on May 7 at 11:00 a.m. ET, on Xbox’s YouTube channel, which can be found here. Expect to see the first ever gameplay footage for titles debuting on this next-gen console, giving us a peek at the kind of performance we can expect from Microsoft’s offering in the next bout of the console wars.

Xbox marketing general manager Aaron Greenberg also tweeted what kind of games we can expect for the presentation. Check out his tweet below.

Fans eagerly waiting for some more news on Halo Infinite may have to wait a bit later into this summer, as the May 7 presentation will showcase Xbox partners rather than the first-party developers at Xbox Game Studios. For instance, Ubisoft has already stated in advance that they will debut the first gameplay footage of the new Assassin’s Creed Valhalla on this Inside Xbox show. Check out the tweet from Ubisoft below.

What we’re hoping to see

Since first-party developers are not expected to show off their games, we can hope that the third-party ones pick up the slack with the first wave of next generation titles. We’ll most likely hear from CD Projekt Red and Cyberpunk 2077¸ as the game is already confirmed to be releasing on the Xbox Series X. Likewise, it would be great to get some more news from FromSoftware’s next project, Elden Ring, which itself first debuted last year on Microsoft’s E3 stage. Warner Bros. may also take this chance to show off their new titles seeing as there’s no E3 this year, and for that any of the games listed here can do for a proper announcement.

Stay tuned with us next week for the Xbox Series X gameplay presentation, as well as our thoughts on it.
