A new expansion is coming soon to Hearts of Iron IV, and it's going to introduce new paths and potential for some of the wartime era's defining conflicts. In By Blood Alone, players get to explore new alternate histories of Italy, Ethiopia, and Switzerland. This upcoming expansion continues the game's tradition of having players experience new stories and possibilities.
Features of the new expansion include:
- New Italian Focus Tree
- Follow the historical path of Italy under Mussolini or rewrite history by bringing back the monarchy to power.
- Players can choose to lead the Communist revolution or go through the path of democracy.
- New Ethiopian Focus Tree
- Defy the odds and defeat the Italian invader or resist the conqueror from abroad with the use of unique Government in Exile abilities.
- New Swiss Focus Tree
- Since the country is surrounded by France, Germany, and Italy, its strength is all about neutrality, balancing competing factions, and overtures from the great powers.
- New Peace Conference Options
- Demilitarize zones of the map or entire nations.
- Bid on the capital ships of defeated powers.
- Claim control of enemy resources or factories as reparations.
- Aircraft Designer
- Players get to design and build their own planes.
- These can include nimble interceptors that focus on speed or durable bombers that can release tons of destruction from the sky.
- Unit Medals
- A log of each division’s accomplishments now allows players to track performance.
- It even lets players award medals to those who have performed well.
- Embargo Interaction
- Implement an Embargo on enemies with a new diplomatic interaction.
- This can prevent them from trading with players especially if they have generated enough world tension.
- New Unit Models
- At least 20 new pieces of unit art for the Italian, Ethiopian, and Swiss armies.
- 67 New Plane Models.
- 12 New Music Tracks.
