Halo: Master Chief Collection’s Latest Update Finally Adds Classic Audio To Multiplayer

Halo Infinite
Halo Infinite 343 Industries

A week ago, 343 Industries promised that the classic sounds of Halo: CE will be coming to the MCC version of the game. Now, they have fulfilled that promise. The latest update that went live on March 6 added an option in Halo: CEA’s settings that lets players use the original audio for multiplayer.

The patch varies in size depending on the platform. Xbox One players will have to download a 58.95 GB update, whereas PC players will only download 1.79GB if they are using Xbox Game Pass. The Steam version of the game will only require a 306 MB update.

The patch is not only about the original sound, but it also adds some small new features in the game and fixes some old bugs. There is a new Spartan customization 3D model viewer for Halo: CEA and the main menu background video has also been updated. Game stability has been improved and hosts can now set primary and secondary weapons in custom games. HUD positioning has also been tweaked a bit.
