All of GTA IV and Episodes from Liberty City will be added right into GTA V on PC, thanks to a new mod coming from the OpenIV team. This mod doesn’t have a release date yet, but the team says it will be ready to go as soon as possible.

To get the mod to work, players will need a copy of GTA V as well as a copy of GTA IV. The mod uses the GTA IV files to transfer over to GTA V . This results in Liberty City getting added into GTA V, instead of replacing Los Santos. The mod will then force GTA V to treat Liberty City as a single-player DLC pack. While not explicitly stated, it would seem you will also need copies of Episodes from Liberty City as well if you want access to that content.

To access the new city, it looks like you’ll simply fly over to it. Hilariously enough, Liberty City appears to be across the ocean from Los Santos, so this mod kind of rewrites all of GTA’s geography.

The OpenIV team says you will not be able to play online with the mod, and using the mod could very likely get you banned from GTA Online. If you want to keep playing online, it’s probably best that you skip this mod. You also will need a decent amount of hard drive space, as the development team says the converter tool used is pretty big. Those looking to use the mod will need the converter tool and the OpenIV tool to make everything work.

For future updates on the OpenIV mod, be sure to stick around iDigitalTimes.

So what do you think? Are you excited to roll around Liberty City, but using assets from GTA V? Would you rather see Rockstar make actual DLC for GTA V? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
