A new update is arriving in Genshin Impact this January 5. Titled “Fleeting Colors in Flight,” Version 2.4 introduces Enkanomiya. Players can also expect to see two new playable characters joining the game. As the first update for 2022, expect this one to offer a lot.
The Underwater Region
Unlike the other new areas introduced in the game, this one is a bit different. That’s because Enkanomiya is a huge floating island located under the ocean and constantly being eroded by the Abyss. It’s said that this is where the ancestors of those living in Watatsumi Island once lived. Since it’s located underwater, players need to find a good use for Dainichi Mikoshi, the artificial sun developed by the ancient civilization.
Like any other island, this one also has dangerous enemies lying-in wait. There’s the Bathysmal Vishaps, for example, cunning social predators able to hunt together and take advantage of their surroundings, especially in combat. Another one is the Abyss Lector: Fathomless Flames, which can perform Pyro attacks and deal delayed bursts of damage whether characters are shielded.
Two New Characters
Dangerous as this new area may be, players should be happy to know that there are reliable companions willing to help.
The first new playable character is the five-star character Shenhe. She not only wields the power of Cryo but can even increase the Cryo damage dealt by her teammates. Her Elemental Skill can also increase the Elemental Skill and Elemental Burst damage of nearby party members or even their Normal, Plunging, and Charged Attack damage.
The second playable character is the four-star character Yun Jin who has Geo Vision and can buff the Normal Attacks of her teammates based on her Defense and the variety of Visions in the player's party. Being an opera master, Yun Jin's opera performance is going to be voiced by a professional Peking Opera Artist, while her daily-life dialogues are to be delivered by voice actors in different languages.
The Lantern Rite
Version 2.4 is set to bring back the Lantern Rite. That means the Liyue Harbor will be packed again with games, stalls, vendors, and all types of festivities to celebrate this annual festival.
There’s also rich rewards that include:
- 10 Intertwined Fates
- A chance to get one of the eight free four-star Liyue characters
- Ningguang's new outfit Orchid's Evening Gown
