It was in December last year when Genshin Impact released the Dragonspine expansion. This introduced a new area, which was a vast mountain engulfed by ancient ruins and snow. One of the inspirations of this new map was the Matterhorn in the Alps.
In celebration of its first anniversary, there are a lot of events where players can unlock different rewards. This series of events hope to connect players with the Alps.
Real-World Celebration
One of the events is based in the real world, particularly the Val Thorens ski resort in the Alps. This ski resort offers unmatched skiing experiences as well as breathtaking sceneries. Not surprising given this is one of the largest and highest ski resorts in the world. This time around, the resort is now Genshin Impact-themed.
Web Event
There’s also a web event titled “Enchanting Journey of Snow and Stars.” In this one, players can light up a special Teleport Waypoint placed in the Alps, and in return, get rewards and a customized photo card that features the snowy peak and their favorite character.
Those who write down their wishes in the event even have the chance to send them on the Tree of Wishes atop the Alps. Once the number of participants reaches one million, a special Alps Waypoint Lighting Ceremony will be broadcast worldwide in mid-January on different platforms.

- Use the hashtags #LightUpTheAlps and #GenshinImpact
A total of 41 Travelers will be randomly selected and awarded:
- First Prize: iPhone 13 256 GB (1 winner)
