Nothing beats the excitement surrounding fresh news on upcoming titles, and these are at the center of the five-day major gaming event at the Koelmnesse in Germany. Be sure to stay tuned with us the whole week as we bring you the latest from Gamescom 2019 in the form of the latest trailers, announcements, news and other information drops on all the newest games hitting the market.

Amidst speculation over the past few months whether a sequel will ever be released, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Tarsier Studios have finally confirmed Little Nightmares II during Gamescom 2019’s Opening Night Live Show.

Little Nightmares II has players assuming control of Mono, a young boy trapped in a world that has been distorted by the humming transmission of a distant tower. Players are guided by Six, a girl in a yellow raincoat. They will journey together to discover the secrets of The Signal Tower and save Six from her terrible fate, and along the way face a new lineup of terrifying threats that reside in the surreal world.

Its predecessor, Little Nightmares, has been considered one of the best indie games of 2017 which is no easy feat considering the quality of games released that year (Cuphead, Divinity: Original Sin 2, Rain World, Hollow Knight). No new mechanics have been unveiled in this brief trailer, so we should expect more or less the same thing, gameplay wise which is a mix of stealth and puzzle solving. This shouldn’t be a big deal, since Little Nightmares thrived more on its execution rather than features.

No released date has been confirmed for Little Nightmares II yet, but we should expect a 2020 release for the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

Be sure to stick around for more news on the latest happenings from Gamescom all throughout the week.
