Daenerys has had a brief but impactful storyline in Game of Thrones Season 6. We haven’t seen her all that much, but when we have, she’s done big things. She was captured by the Dothraki, and now she controls the united Dothraki horde—the most powerful military force in the world. She’s returning to Meereen, where Tyrion is brokering a peace with the slavers—one that may not hold, but will allow Daenerys to leave with her conscience lightened. And the better part of the Iron Fleet is sailing toward Meereen to meet Daenerys. All the stars are aligned— she’s finally coming to Westeros.

For years and years, show watchers and book fans have asked when Daenerys will come to her homeland for the first time. It has been a long wait, but the time is finally here. She has learned to govern—or, rather, learned that she can’t govern all that well—in Slaver’s Bay. The dragons are grown. She has a truly massive army at her disposal, and one that won’t wait around inside a city for her. Once the Iron Fleet arrives at Meereen, it’s going to be time to go. Will she leave Tyrion or Varys behind to govern? Will she turn the city over to the Meereenese? That’s hard to say thus far, but Daenerys’s departure is now imminent.

Only two things need to happen now for Daenerys to depart for Westeros: She needs to get back to Meereen from the Dothraki steppe, which is already in progress, and she needs the Iron Fleet, which is already well on its way to Meereen. Both should only take a few scenes. By the end of this season, Daenerys will have struck an alliance with Yara and Theon—or taken their ships by force, if such is her wont. Then she’ll just have to contend with Euron Greyjoy, which is no hard feat with dragons at her side. Then the way to Westeros is clear.

It won’t all happen this season, but Daenerys’s journey with her horde will finally begin. She won’t make it to Westeros until Game of Thrones Season 7, but she’ll set off on her way before the season is out. And then Tommen, the Faith and the common people had better watch out—she will wreak untold destruction.
