The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 may be announced in a similar time frame to the Galaxy Note 5, if recent reports are to be believed. Tech informant Evan Blass recently tweeted that Samsung will announce the Galaxy Note 6 sometime during the week of Aug. 15.

Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 was announced Aug. 13 and went on sale Aug. 21. The manufacturer indicated it pushed up the date of the Galaxy Note launch to give its device some spotlight against the iPhone. Prior to 2015, Samsung often announced its Note devices in the September timeframe. Launches often coincided with the IFA Expo.

However, Samung instead showcased the Gear S2 smartwatch at IFA in 2015. The company is expected to launch other wearables in IFA in September, including the Gear S3 and the Gear Fit 2 .

If rumors are accurate, the Galaxy Note 6 could see a speedy market launch similar to the Galaxy Note 5, and could possibly be on sale the week after being announced. At this time, no details about the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 are confirmed.

Rumors suggest the Galaxy Note 6 features could include an increased display size as well as RAM and battery capacity and major camera improvements . The device is expected to feature a USB Type-C port and a software feature called Samsung Focus, which is similar to BlackBerry Hub .
