If you have some time as you gear up for the holidays, check out Steam’s free games for the weekend.
Dead by Daylight is described on its Steam page as “a multiplayer (4vs1) horror game where one player takes on the role of the savage Killer, and the other four players play as Survivors, trying to escape the Killer and avoid being caught and killed.”
The game features procedurally generated levels, Killers with unique powers drawn from classic horror movie tropes and a deep progression system for both Survivors and Killers.
The other game available to play for free this weekend on Steam is Sombrero: Spaghetti Western Mayhem. A mix between a party game and a shoot-’em-up for 2 to 4 players, Sombrero is described as “a Spaghetti Western-inspired multiplayer shootout for 2-4 players” with “four unique game modes, with a cast of rough-and-ready characters ready to battle it out across a variety of treacherous locales in both local and online play.”
Both games launched this year – Dead by Daylight launched in June, while Sombrero launched late this October.
The games are available to play for free on Steam until Sunday, December 18, at 3 PM EST. Both games are also on sale, with 30% off for Dead by Daylight and 73% off for Sombrero. Some of Dead by Daylight ’s DLC is also on sale. The sale prices will be available until Monday, Dec. 19 in case you get addicted to either of these titles while the free weekend is going on.
