While not the most popular game mode in "Fortnite," Save the World has long been requested by fans to get a life-saving update, and now, Epic Games announced that it will soon be available free-to-play.
'Fortnite's' Save The World Mode Is Now Free-to-Play
Several days ago, there had been significant teasers and hints from Epic Games regarding a massive announcement in the game. Now, it has been confirmed by the company that "Fortnite's" Save the World mode is turning to free-to-play.
According to the announcement, the Save the World game mode will soon transform into a free-to-play experience in the action shooter game starting on April 16.
The experience will also expand its access to different gaming platforms, including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, Cloud, and the Nintendo Switch 2, essentially offering it to more players worldwide.
Epic Games is now inviting players to pre-register for the game mode's revamp, offering more in-game rewards to all pre-registrants, including a special treat from the company.
What to Expect from 'Fortnite' Save The World
"Fortnite's" Save the World mode is one of the original game modes introduced by Epic Games way back in 2017, coming months earlier than the famed Battle Royale mode.
However, Save the World is best known for being a paid access experience, with those having the Founders' Pack and other bundles getting exclusive access to the mode.
GameRant reported that Save The World's player count dwindled over the years, and fans of the mode asked for a massive update from Epic Games to save it.
Fans also asked Epic to transform it into a free-to-play game mode, similar to the Battle Royale and other modes introduced in the game.
It is only nine years later that Epic heeded the pleas of Save the World fans and made the mode free-to-play.
