The creators of Fear the Walking Dead may have shared its link to the original The Walking Dead series in its second season.

Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 episode 9 revealed Madison Clark’s hometown is, in fact, Alabama, Ga., where most of The Walking Dead original cast members lived before the zombie apocalypse hit.

Madison’s connection to Alabama leaves the door open to The Walking Dead . Currently the Fear the Walking Dead timeline is about two years or so behind The Walking Dead storyline. There’s always a chance The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead characters might interact with each other one day.

But that leaves the question: who might Madison be connected to? The obvious choice would be Rick Grimes, but the more interesting choice would be the Dixon brothers. It’s clear Madison has witnessed some terrible things in her past life. Remember when Daniel Salazar was interrogating a soldier to find out where the army was keeping his sick wife? Madison walked in and didn’t flinch. She stayed cool despite disagreeing with the way Daniel was handling the situation.

What if Madison is linked to Merle and Daryl? She could be their estranged sister who fled to California with her then-husband to get away from the Dixon family. Daryl has scars on his back from the abuse he endured as a child. If Madison ran away, it would make sense for the Dixon brothers to not mention her; it would be a sore spot for them and they’re not ones to get emotional.

Of course there’s always Lori, the Green family, Carol, Andrea and the other original cast members she might be linked to. Still, it’s unlikely Fear the Walking Dead will reveal its connection to The Walking Dead in its second season, if at all. It might just be a nod to The Walking Dead fans who watch both shows.
