The battle is over and the FaZe Clan stood tall at the CS: GO PGL Major Antwerp 2022. The team had defeated Natus Vincere with a convincing 2-0. With this, they brought home $500,00. This win, combined with the one during the ESL Pro League Season 15, means FaZe is now qualified for the World Final.
FaZe entered the tournament at the Legends Stage. This was made possible by getting third place in the European Regional Major Rankings A. At the end of the Legends Stage, the team made it to the top eight and thus qualified for the Champions stage. Their first opponent was Ninjas in Pyjamas which they beat 3-1. After that, they won against Team Spirit 2-0, and it set the stage for the Grand Final against Na'Vi.
The Inferno
The first map was Inferno with FaZe starting on the T side and Na'Vi on CT. After winning the first round, FaZe would go on to win the next seven for an 8-0 lead. Na'Vi fought back and managed to close the gap a bit and ended the half at 10-5. In the second half, FaZe would still win the pistol round on CT. However, it was here that Na'Vi appeared to finally find their groove. Na'Vi got a 13-13 tie and eventually a 13-15 advantage. FaZe would be able to get the score to 15-15 and lead things to overtime.
In overtime, FaZe got a quick lead at 17-15 before Na'Vi would get a win for a 17-16 score. However, FaZe wouldn't be denied and won the next two rounds to close the match at 19-16.
Go Nuke
The second map was Nuke and this time, FaZe started on CT. Similar to the first map, FaZe won the pistol round and would do well enough to get a 5-1 lead. The half ended with Faze having a 10-5 lead versus Na'Vi. For the second half, Na'Vi lost the pistol round but would play strong in the succeeding rounds. However, FaZe was just too good and ended the match with a score of 16-10.
MVP
For those able to watch the tournament, it was clear who was named MVP and it was none other than Håvard "rain" Nygaard. HLTV gave him a rating of 1.24.
