Fairy Tail is all set to be released to North America on March 20, 2020. The game will be available for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. A European release is scheduled a day before on March 19.
Fairy Tail also confirmed that new wizards are joining the fight. These include Heavenly Body Magic user Jellal Fernandes of Crime Sorcière. There's also Fairy Tail's Mirajane Strauss along with the “Thunder Dragon Slayer” and grandchild of Makarov, Laxus Dreyar. The first set of wizards confirmed for the game were Fairy Tail's "greatest team" composed of Natsu Dragneel, GrayFullbuster, Erza "Titania" Scarlet, and Lucy Heartfilia. Additionally, the sky dragon slayer Wendy Marvell will be making an appearance along with Gajeel Redfox and Juvia Lockser.
In the game, players go on an adventure across the Kingdom of Fiore in their quest to make Fairy Tail the region's top guild. To make this happen, players build a five-character dream team from a roster of more than 15 playable characters.
As characters fight together in the same party, their bonds slowly strengthen, and as their friendship level increases, special conversations are going to play out. These include original dialogue written specifically for the game.
Stronger bonds also let you perform enhanced attacks. A good example is that a powerful Magic Chain ability can last for a longer period of time after teammates manage to establish a significant bond. That's not all, as playing through the game’s original character relationship stories, as well as the main the story, can raise the party member’s Character Rank and unlock a bounty of new battle skills.
In addition, Fairy Tail also announced that a Digital Deluxe version is going to be available. Aside from the game it comes with a special Grand Magic Games costume, a bonus Lacrima set, and even a DDX Limited Ryza costume for Lucy.
Those who buy Fairy Tail, whether physical or digital, will unlock the Early Purchase Bonus special costume for Erza. This is only offered for a limited time from launch. The actual design is going to be revealed closer to launch. Pre-orders for Fairy Tail are available right now through select retailers.
