We’re wrapping up E3 2017, but that doesn’t mean the party has to end here. The dates for E3 2018 have already been released, so let’s get going with next year’s big games! All aboard the hype train!

In a press release from the Entertainment Software Association, the organization that runs E3 every year, E3 2018 will take place from June 12 to 14 next year.

"E3 2017 was a huge success. The advancements in technology unveiled at E3 will redefine and drive worldwide growth of the most meaningful form of entertainment on the planet," said ESA president and CEO Michael D. Gallagher in a press statement. "Congratulations to our innovative exhibitors, members, and partners and to the millions of gamers who celebrated a spectacular E3 with us."

By the numbers, this was a huge E3. More than 2000 products were on display from 293 different exhibitors. In addition, 68,400 people attended including, for the first time, 15,000 fans with no press affiliation whatsoever. The influx of fans helped E3 have its most social year on record, with 15 million E3-related posts across Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram. For those who couldn’t make it to the show, 5.5 million hours of E3 content was streamed just on Twitch alone. This doesn’t even take into account the streaming time from YouTube and other sites.

While we don’t know all the games that will be at E3 2018, we do have a few good ideas. It’s very likely the new Spider-Man, Metroid Prime 4, BioWare’s Anthem, Skull and Bones, Days Gone, The Last Night and many more will all return. All these games are either scheduled for a late 2018 release, or have no release window planned at all. We should also be seeing trailers and maybe even gameplay from things like Visceral’s Star Wars game. Of course, like every year, there will still be plenty of surprises and new games to see as well.

So what do you think? Are you excited to see what next year’s E3 has in store for the gaming industry? What game are you most looking forward to that is not coming out this year? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
