A new adventure is starting soon in Thedas. We finally have the official title of the new Dragon Age game - Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.
Not much has been revealed besides that the Dread Wolf is one named Solas. Nobody knows who he is, but there are rumors about him. There are those who say that he could be an elven god ,while some believe he betrayed his own people. However, his motives and methods have earned him the reputation of being a trickster deity, someone who plays dark and dangerous games.
If you played Dragon Age: Inquisition, you know your first encounter with Solas. He projected a wise persona, a mage who traveled in many ruins and studied their histories through the Fade. After the main quest, more info about him is revealed in the Trespasser DLC. This is also where Solas removed the Anchor from the Inquisitor to save their life.
The Dragon Age Team did reveal that they’ll answer questions in time. They did confirm that the game won’t be coming out this year, but said that it will be fun for those veterans and newbies to Dragon Age.
The series takes players to the continent of Thedas and follows the experiences of different inhabitants. The first game was Dragon Age: Origins, released in 2009. The story follows a recent recruit to the Grey Wardens, a legendary order of warriors. The mission of this order is to protect Thedas from Darkspawn and Archdemons. The Darkspawn are a race of subterranean-dwelling tainted beings that emerge to the surface during a Blight, typically led by an Archdemon.
The sequel, Dragon Age II, was released in 2011. This time around, the story focuses on the eldest child of the Hawke family. This Hawke child, along with his family, flees Fereldan as a refugee and travels to Kirkwall. The child eventually grew in power and influence to become the Champion of Kirkwall.
The third game was Dragon Age: Inquisition, released in 2014. The focus now shifts to the Inquisition, an organization tasked with restoring peace and order to Thedas. This time, Thedas has been ravaged by a demonic invasion due to the huge tear in the sky, which happened more than 10 years after the events of the first game.
Before this reveal, BioWare had announced that it was working on a fourth installment back in 2018. Then, in December 2020, a teaser trailer was released.
What do you think? Excited to know more about this game?
