Dota 2 Roster News: TNC Takes a Break as NAVI Benches Remaining Team Members

Time to recharge and rise again. TNC Predator

When Dota 2 tournaments were announced for Southeast Asia, a lot of fans noticed the absence of TNC Predator. It didn’t take long for some in the community to question if the roster is disbanding.

As if to address the growing questions, TNC released a statement saying that the roster is taking time to recharge and prepare for the next DPC season. The break though isn’t really a surprise considering that there aren’t any high-tier tournaments on the horizon.

TNC had been on the road to get a direct invite for TI10 but the pandemic struck and pretty much erased those hopes. They weren’t able to have a good performance during the revised DPC. In Season 1, the team wasn’t able to qualify for the Singapore Major. While they did qualify for WePlay AniMajor after Season 2, the team finished at the 7th-8th place.

They had one more chance to join TI10 through the qualifiers but Fnatic took that spot. Do you think that TNC is eventually disbanding?

Benching the Roster

In Eastern Europe, Natus Vincere made a drastic move and put the entire roster on inactive status. For those following the team, that’s only four members since Akbar “SoNNeikO” Butaev had already left the team.

The organization decided to bench the remaining players due to their unsatisfying performance during the TI10 qualifiers for the region. In a YouTube video, Na’Vi COO Aleksey “xaoc” Kucherov revealed that there were also financial considerations that led to the decision. He cited that the Dota 2 esports scene remains not financially profitable for different teams.

Finally, we head over to North America where Team Team revealed a new roster. The team had been doing relatively well back in 2019 before the whole roster was signed by Beastcoast.

The new roster is actually from different teams and these are:

  • Samuel “Sammyboy” Anderson (from 4 Zoomers)
  • Eric “Ryoya” Dong (from SADBOYS)
  • Braxton “Brax” Paulson (from 4 Zoomers)
  • Francis “Flee” Lee (from Black N Yellow)
  • Michael “ixmike88” Ghannam (from 4 Zoomers)

With Team Team back, North America is going to be an interesting place when the new season rolls in.
