Dota 2 Roster News: MATUMABAMAN and Team Secret Part Ways

One more player leaves.
One more player leaves. Team Secret

There’s another big move happening in Western Europe, and this time it’s Team Secret. The region’s top Dota 2 team has parted ways with Lasse Aukusti “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen. With this, Secret is down to three players for its roster.

We say three because early this month, Ludwig “zai” Wahlberg also left to join Team Liquid. There is still no word on what Zai’s role is going to be.

Going back with today’s update, Secret shared in a post that MATUMBAMAN brought a breath of fresh air when he joined the team. It was in November 2019 when MATUMBAMAN joined the team and according to Secret, has led not only to some amazing Dota 2 games but even amazing times as a team.

As MATUMBAMAN leaves, Secret revealed that they wish him the best and that his contributions have allowed the team to achieve a lot. In relation to this, team captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov said that while this chapter may have ended, it’s never forgotten. He added that he enjoyed being teammates with MATUMBAMAN and even shared some great moments together.

MATUMBAMAN also shared his thoughts stating that playing with Secret “was a blast” and that he counts each of them as a friend.

It looks like the upcoming DPC season will be exciting especially when we get to see new rosters not only for Secret but other teams as well.

Another One

In the same region, OG looks to be cleaning its slate as it announced that Titouan “Sockshka” Merloz was no longer part of the team. He had originally been signed as Assistant Coach just before The International 2021.

Early this month, Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan and Martin “Saksa” Sazdov had left the team to pursue other opportunities. Read more about that here.

Ready for the New Season

Moving to South America, SG esports seem ready for the upcoming season. It had released the entire roster back in October but they have since signed a new one. The new roster is now:

  • Danilo “Arms” Silva
  • Eliseo “kxy” Arancibia
  • Lucas “Hyko” Morais
  • Artur Henrique “LTH” Lauth
  • Nicolás “Wij” Moreno

What do you think? Is this team going to fare better than the previous roster?
