Dota 2 is coming to France! Mars Media announced that it has partnered with Disneyland Paris to host the MDL Disneyland Paris Major. This is the fourth Dota 2 major tournament of the season and offers a $1 million prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.

This will be the first major to be held in France, and the first tournament to be hosted by MDL that is outside China. The event starts on May 4, with the finals scheduled for May 12. Matches will be played at Disney’s Newport Bay Club and the Disney Events Arena. A total of 16 teams are expected to battle it out for the top prize.

In a statement, Mars Media CEO Zhang Yu revealed that the company is proud and excited to bring the MDL to France. Yu expressed that he looks forward to this partnership "which marks our first, but not last, foray into the western esports market."

Disneyland Paris Event Group Director Aymeric Magne shared the excitement, mentioning that Disneyland Paris is proud to collaborate with Mars Media to bring a Dota 2 Major in France. He expects that the tournament "will further consolidate Disneyland Paris’s position as a go-to destination for live events as well as a major esports partner in Europe."

The MDL Disneyland Paris Major is the fourth Major of the 2018-2019 DPC Season following the Kuala Lumpur Major, Chongqing Major, and DreamLeague Season 11. DreamLeague Season 11 begins next week on March 14, and runs all the way to March 24. A total of 16 Dota 2 teams will be competing, including Kuala Lumpur Major champion Virtus.pro and Chongqing Major winner Team Secret.

For MDL, DreamLeague Season 11 follows its recently held MDL Macau 2019 where Team Liquid took home the championship trophy. Team Liquid is also competing in DreamLeague Season 11.
