Dota 2 BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024: Team Spirit Sends Home LGD Gaming

Lower Bracket is not a problem. Team Spirit

Two-time TI champions Team Spirit has managed to live and fight for another day at the BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 Dota 2 tournament. After being dropped to the Lower Bracket by Gaiming Gladiators, the team managed to sweep LGD Gaming 2-0 to move to the Lower Bracket Quarterfinals.

The Team Spirit versus LGD Gaming was actually the first elimination match of the Playoffs. LGD has a strong start in the first game especially in the laning phase. It wasn't that much of a surprise considering the heroes that they drafted. Despite this advantage, it was clear that there was some hesitation on the part of LGD to be more aggressive. This is where the tournament experience kicked in and once Spirit saw this, they knew they wouldn't let it go. With Magomed "Collapse" Khalilov on Omniknight, Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk was pretty much unstoppable on Slark with 13 kills and only one death. Denis "Larl" Sigitov on Puck meanwhile had 5 kills and zero deaths.

Moving on to the second game, it was again all about Spirit. This time it was worse for LGD as Spirit took the lead early and never looked back. Once again Yatoro was in double digit on kills with Sven.

In a post on X, Collapse cited the good job that they did in preparing for the draft as one of the key reasons for the one. He also said that it was due to them being a bit faster in the macro game.

While LGD Gaming may have been eliminated, they get to take home $35,000.

Other Matches

Ongoing as of this writing is the second elimination match of the Playoffs which is Xtreme Gaming versus Team Liquid. Tomorrow it's going to be BetBoom Team going against Gaimin Gladiators while in another match it's Team Falcons versus Azure Ray.

Team Eliminated

LGD Gaming isn't the only Dota 2 team that has been eliminated. After the Group Stage, four teams have been eliminated. In Group A, it was Eastern Europe powerhouse Virtus.pro who was eliminated. Eliminated as well is Southeast Asian team Aurora. The two team didn't really do too well having the same 3-7 win-loss record.

For Group B, it was another disappointing finish for OG who ended last. Also eliminated was nouns, from the Americas.

The BetBoom Dacha Dubai 2024 had a total of 12 Dota 2 teams from around the world competing for a large share of the $1 million prize pool. Seven teams were invited with the rest needing to go through qualifiers. Which team do you think is bringing home the crown?
