Marvel’s next major film release is Doctor Strange , which will dive deep into Stephen Strange’s origins and how he came to be the Sorcerer Supreme, the Earth’s protector of all interdimensional mystical and magical threats. With the marketing campaign heating up, Marvel released 17 high quality stills that you’ll definitely want to see.

After a car accident, Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is no longer to operate. Searching for a miracle cure, he meets the Ancient One (Tilda Swinton) and discovers the world of magic. Rachel McAdams stars as Christine Palmer, a fellow surgeon who has a history with Strange.

She is someone he connects with at the beginning, and reconnects with, and helps anchor his humanity,” Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige said at San Diego Comic-Con.

Mads Mikkelsen plays the film’s villain, Kaecilius. According to Feige, Kaecilius is a sorcerer who believes The Ancient One’s intentions to protect the world from interdimensional threats is malicious. Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor will also appear in the film.

This will be the first time we’ll see Doctor Strange’s Sanctum Sanctorum in live action. His trippy, three-story abode in New York’s historic Greenwich Village neighborhood was at one point home to both the New Avengers and Defenders.

Expect another trailer and teasers before the film hits theaters Nov. 4.
