There’s a new festival arriving in Pokémon GO and once again it sees the debut of a new Pokémon. This time it’s the Antenna Pokémon Dedenne joining the game courtesy of the Festival of Lights. The event starts on November 5 and runs until November 14.

Also known as Diwali, it is considered one of Hinduism’s most popular festivals that typically lasts for five days. It is said to symbolize the spiritual victory of light against darkness, good over evil, and knowledge versus ignorance.

For the duration of the event, players can enjoy these bonuses:

  • Friendship levels increase twice as fast.
  • Gifts provide increased rewards.
  • Players can open as many as 45 Gifts per day.

There’s also a free item in the Festival of Lights T-shirt inspired by the celebrations in India. Just head over to the shop to get it. There are Dedenne-inspired avatar items as well.

Trainers can also get Dedenne-inspired stickers by simply spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, or buying them from the in-game shop.
