Dark Souls 3 could be headed to the Nintendo Switch in 2017, according to a new report from the European games press, and there’s a new DS3 bundle being prepped for the three platforms that already support the game. Neither has been confirmed by publisher Bandai Namco, but it’s also fair to say neither would come as big surprise, given the mostly positive reception to Dark Souls 3 when it debuted back in April.

According to VideoGamer.com, FromSoftware already has a version of Dark Souls 3 running “with satisfactory performance” on Nintendo’s upcoming console-portable hybrid. The new report cites an undisclosed source at the studio, who also claims Bandai Namco is trying to determine whether or not there would be a market for the entire Dark Souls trilogy on Switch. However, the site’s source claims no decision will be made (on either release) until early sales figures for the Switch are available.

Nintendo Switch might not be the only platform to see a new Dark Souls SKU in 2017, either. The same source says the rumored Dark Souls 3 Switch port could debut alongside a standard GOTY repackaging of DS3 and its post-launch DLC. Such a decision would all but guarantee that neither the Switch port nor the Dark Souls 3 GOTY bundle would emerge until FromSoftware is finished working on the game’s second expansion, currently slated to debut sometime next year.

We’ve reached out to Bandai Namco and will update this story if/when we hear anything back from the publisher.

Dark Souls 3 is currently available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
