GameMill Entertainment has just announced the arrival of Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The side-scrolling brawler and beat ‘em up game will launch on the aforementioned platforms on October 27.

For those who are out of the loop, Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues is a beat ‘em up adventure based on the hit show of the same name. The show, also titled Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues, started in 2018 under the YouTube Originals banner and follows the life of Johnny Lawrence of the Cobra Kai Dojo 34 years after his embarrassing defeat at the hand of Daniel Larusso from Miyagi-Do Karate. Now down on his luck and trying to forget his past, a chance encounter eventually leads him to re-open the Cobra Kai Dojo and teach a group of social outcasts martial arts, albeit with a more honorable approach than that of John Kreese. On the other side of the story, Daniel Larusso, now rich and successful, is struggling to find personal balance in his life.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues will include eight playable characters from the series, complete with deep move sets, combos, progression, real time character swaps, and ultimate attacks. Players can choose to play either as Daniel and his students at Miyagi-Do Karate or the disciples under the tutelage of Johnny Lawrence at Cobra Kai. Completing these two campaign routes will reveal an ultimate ending. There are also 40 unique skills and upgrades for characters, as well as the ability to character swap for each faction such as Daniel, Robby, Sam and Demetri for Miyagi-Do and Johnny, Miguel, Hawk, and Tory for Cobra Kai.

An almost two-minute trailer has been released along with the announcement, which showcases some snippets of gameplay and clips from the series. So far, it looks like Cobra Kai feels wonky and sluggish. Opinions on the internet have claimed that the game is nothing more than an advertisement for the upcoming third Season of the show. Either way, we can only find out once it launches.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid Saga Continues will drop for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on October 27.
