Clash Of Clans has a major update coming, and its developers at Supercell are teasing some interesting things. Between forum posts and captured chat logs, there’s evidence of a new game mode and additional troops from the Clash Royale card game.

In terms of new game modes, we honestly don’t know much. However, when asked about that possibility, studio community rep Anoushka said, “besides new upgrade levels, we do plan to bring you some new exciting content soon!” However, it was added that “no spoilers” would be shared today. The options are pretty limitless, but Supercell has made an effort to expand the game through adjustments to Clan Wars and Friendly Challenges in the past. It will be interesting to see what the next major revision brings.

The mention of new troops appeared in an official chat thread captured by humongoustuna on reddit. The user asked if any more troops from Clash Of Clans might find their way into Clash Royale. The official account replied with “nothing on the radar at the moment, but maybe the other way.” The implication being that, instead, Royale troops might eventually come to Clans.

This type of thing has precedent for Supercell as well. The Miner and Baby Dragon that debuted in Clash Of Clans earlier this year first appeared in Royale. There’s been lots of speculation that something like the Mini PEKKA, Ice Wizard or Lumberjack might be adopted to bring some melee or mid-range action to the current suite. Especially as the winter months close in, introducing the last two troops on that list would make sense for an update in the next few weeks or months.

That being said, Supercell is a company that loves to tease new content, and, as development conditions change, some of it never comes to fruition in the final game. These brief mentions should be taken with a grain of salt, but it shows that lots of exciting stuff is certainly being worked on.

Clash Of Clans ’ previous big patch released in October followed by a Royale update in November. Sneak peeks for Clans’ new features are expected to begin over the next few days for a full release before Dec. 25. However, until the promotion begins, we can’t say much officially.

Clash Of Clans and Clash Royale are available now on Android and iOS.

What do you think of these update teases? Will we see any of this in December? Tell us in the comments section!
