Call of Duty: Warzone, along with Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, announced that Season 3 is now live. This is a huge event for Warzone considering that the game has reached more than 100 million players since it was released last year. For the new season, players can expect to travel back to 1984 and experience the Cold War.

Players can assume some big changes in Warzone like new, reimagined, locations, new gameplay options, and deep optimizations on the whole map. For Black Ops Cold War, meanwhile, new multiplayer maps and modes are added. Season 3 also offers the next chapter of Call of Duty Zombies in Outbreak plus a wide range of new gear that players can use in battles. This is just the beginning with more content, events, and surprises to come this season and beyond.

In celebration of the new season, different Warzone super fans banded together and along with music video director Gibson Hazard, released a new campaign called “Squad up the World.”

In a statement, Activision President Rob Kostich revealed that when they launched Warzone, it reinvented Call of Duty. He added that more new content will arrive in Warzone as well as Black Ops Cold War. Kostich ended by stating that players can expect more to come with this season.

Back to the Past

The new season arrives as players have been fighting zombies across Warzone for weeks now. However last week, the zombie horde reached its tipping point with many players experiencing an in-game event, which triggered a nuclear blast with Verdansk going dark.

Now Warzone players find themselves brought to Rebirth Island. Here, players can look for mysterious in-game clues and hidden messages that can help them learn more about the event and what happened to Warzone. Eventually, everyone is transported back to Verdansk, but in 1984.

Call of Duty: Warzone is a free-to-play battle royale video game available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. It’s also offered for next-gen consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is part of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Black Ops: Cold War. The game allows multiplayer battles between 150 players.
