Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 announced that big changes are coming this month, giving players a direct path not only to earning new weapons, but also rewards just by playing. The revamp is going to take place beginning November 12 and will affect all platforms. The change involves making all functional content, which includes base weapons and items in Blackjack's Shop, unlockable simply by playing Black Ops 4.

Specifically, the changes coming with the update include:

  • A new, regularly scheduled “Pick-a-Weapon Bribe” bundle available for 50 Reserve Cases that allows players to select the weapon of their choice.
    • This new Pick-a-Weapon Bribe bundle appears in Blackjack’s Shop and the Reserves tab in the Black Market.
    • This allows players to unlock a weapon of theur choice from a Crate that also includes two Reserve items, along with a bonus of five Duplicate-Protected Crates.
    • This opens up a new way to earn the exact weapons you want in addition to unlocking more weapons through Reserves.
    • This bundle lets players choose from Reserve weapons that they don’t currently own, including Mastercrafts, Signature Weapons, MKII Weapons, and base versions. Keep an eye out for this offer to refresh in the future.
  • A new rotating “Reserves Stack” which always displays an item from Reserves that players don’t currently own, which they can unlock by trading in two Reserve Cases.
  • Two new rotating “My Deals” slots that can be unlocked with Reserve Cases and always showcases items players don’t currently own.
  • “Reserves Stack” and “My Deals” refreshes on a regular basis to reveal a new item, and refreshes instantly after the current item on display has been acquired.

With these changes, players now have the freedom to earn items that are available in Blackjack’s Shop with Reserve Cases. In addition, for the first time ever, players are going to be able to see Reserve items before acquiring them through the new Reserves Stack. All the items mentioned above are still going to be available for optional purchase.

Once the update arrives, players can continue to earn Reserve Cases in four ways:

  • Completing Contracts in any mode.
  • Earning Cases through the standard Reserve earn rate in Multiplayer and Blackout.
  • Unlocking Contraband Tiers after Tier 50.
  • Completing up to two Daily Tier Skips (includes the bonus Daily Tier Skip in Zombies) for additional Reserve Cases each day after Tier 50 has been reached.

Black Ops 4 also announced that at least 280 new Black Market rewards are going to be introduced to earn for months to come. Some of them have been made available starting today on PlayStation 4 with other platforms to follow. New items include:

  • “MicroMG 9mm” SMG ranged weapon
  • “Eye of Apophis” amulet melee weapon
  • “Pentagon Thief” Blackout character
  • New Reactive Camos
  • New weapon camos
  • New Legendary and Rare outfits
  • New Death Effects
  • New Weapon Charms
  • New Blackout Jump Packs
  • New Gestures

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to release more details on these changes soon.
