Publisher Annapurna Interactive and developer DINOGOD have officially announced Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem, a 3D mech action game set in a Wild West-like post-apocalypse. Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem will be arriving sometime in 2023 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam. It’s also coming to Xbox Game Pass, although it’s unclear if it will be a Day One title for the Microsoft service. To celebrate the official announcement, Annapurna Interactive released a new trailer which you can check out below.
The minute-long trailer presents a backstory for Clem, an individual who’s stopped from enjoying a peaceful life by the many dangers presented in the Red Expanse. That said, she is talented enough to survive it all, especially with the help of her custom mech. Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem is also confirmed to feature music from Brother Dege, the same composer for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained official soundtrack, guaranteeing a Deep Southern feel for the game’s music.
According to its official Steam page, Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem will feature three distinct aspects: a 3D action game with mechs, mech customization, and base building and farming. The game sees the efforts of Clem, a war veteran and expert mech pilot looking to atone for the sins of her past in the Red Expanse.
In her journey, Clem pilots a Desert Raptor MKII, a powerful battle vehicle with an amazing level of customizability. It can be equipped with a variety of offensive and defensive weapons, including heavy melee weapons, steam-powered siege weapons, explosive firearms, high-speed thrusters, dash boosters, riot shields, and so much more.
Clem’s main gig in Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem is that of a bounty hunter, tracking down dangerous criminals and beasts. She’ll take on these bounties from her own homestead, which acts as a base of operations that will be upgraded alongside Clem’s mech. From here, Clem can grow and cook food, produce ammunition and fuel, and raise various animals.
Bounty Star: The Morose Tale of Graveyard Clem is now available for wishlisting on Steam, and is a decent title for anyone looking for a unique take on the mech genre.
