With the Naruto Shippuden anime ending, the next anime series based on the Naruto manga will begin. Boruto: Naruto Next Generation will receive an anime adaptation and TV Tokyo has released a new trailer on its website showcasing the titular character and some of the adventures he will have.

Check out the brand new trailer for the Boruto: Naruto Next Generation anime below.

Anime Now has translated the Boruto trailer into English to better understand the synopsis of the series.

Boruto: The modernization of the village of Konohagakure continues to advance, and it’s as peaceful as can be. Ninjas might not be needed in this age, but still, I decided to attend the ninja academy. But everyone only looks at me as the “Hokage’s son.” I’ll escape from that label as fast as you can blink and have everyone recognize me for who I am! This is my story! BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS begins airing on April 5 at 5:55 p.m.!

Those who have begun to read the Boruto manga know it encompasses the Boruto movie that premiered in theaters almost two years ago (and is finally coming to homes this year). It seems the anime, from the trailer at least, will not start there, but in a new arc so both the manga readers and anime lovers can experience it together.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generation will premiere in Japan on April 5.
