Borderlands 3's been out for a little over a week, and the folks over at Gearbox were excited to announce details regarding the game's first DLC, Bloody Harvest. Rolling out as a limited-time Halloween event, Bloody Harvest will feature ghouls, guns, and (supposedly) a hell of a lot of fun.

Revealed at the first ever Borderlands Show stream, the Bloody Harvest event will be the first in a series of planned post-launch content releases for the title. Intended for both end-game players and characters that are still grinding through the game's massive world, the event will run sometime in October, in time for Halloween.

Bloody Harvest will be free for all players who already own Borderlands 3, and will be available to all characters who have unlocked at least Sanctuary III and progressed far enough to leave Pandora. Themed around Halloween, the event features a new location called 'Heck', where players face off against haunted enemies led by a certain Captain Haunt. New gameplay mechanics will also be introduced in the event, particularly the Terror debuff which hinders players vision as they wrestle against terrible forces. Bloody Harvest will also introduce new "Anointed" weapon attachments that should prove particularly effective against the ghosts and ghouls of the Bloody Harvest.

Apart from the upcoming Bloody Harvest event, the Borderlands Show stream also announced other upcoming DLCs, including the highly-anticipated Maliwan Takedown and campaign DLCs. The Borderlands Show stream is scheduled to run monthly and will include any updates and announcements regarding the game, so check back regularly for more information.

Borderlands 3 came out on September 13, but it's already making waves as the biggest and best title of the franchise so far. Borderlands 3 is available on PS4, Xbox One, PC (via the Epic Games Store), and the soon-to-be-available Google Stadia, starting at $60.
