Better Call Saul Season 2 ended with consequential events very nearly happening. Mike Ehrmantraut (Jonathan Banks) almost killed a guy, then didn’t. Chuck McGill (Michael McKean) gathered damning evidence against his brother, Jimmy (still on his way to becoming Saul Goodman), but didn’t deploy it. But maybe something will happen in Season 3.

Now Entertainment Weekly has the first Better Call Saul Season 3 promo images and it’s about what you’d expect: Cinnabon Saul (or is he going by Jimmy again?) and Chuck’s ongoing struggles with psychosomatic electromagnetic hypersensitivity.

Will we see more of Saul Goodman’s life after the events of Breaking Bad? So far it’s been little more than tastes of the dark future ahead, a reminder of where all the machinations leave him. But will his dark future ever become a part of the Better Call Saul plot? Showrunner Vince Gilligan has certainly hinted at it before.

But the more consequential reveal in these promo images is the promo pic putting Chuck and Jimmy back in the same room. Their relationship was tested in Season 2, but will they continue on this destructive path? And is Chuck tearing down his tinfoil house or reinforcing, driving himself deeper into dysfunction?

We won’t know the answers for a while yet, since Better Call Saul Season 3 isn’t due until spring 2017.
