The title of Avengers: Infinity War is subject to change, Joe and Anthony Russo revealed during an interview with Uproxx. The directors explained the two movies are actually extremely different. “It is misleading,” Anthony added.

The decision to re-title is final, but the Russo’s didn’t speak on what they have in mind for the new names. “The intention is we will change it, we just haven’t come up with the titles yet. But, yes, we will change it. And, yes, that is a scoop: we will retitle them.”

There’s a certain expectation that two-part films bring, and the Russo’s don’t want that to affect the way the Avengers movies are received by fans. First comes Captain America: Civil War , which hits theaters May 6. Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 drops in 2018, and Part 2 i n 2019.

Thanos is the big bad villain in Avengers ‘Infinity War.’ He’s on an undying quest to find all 6 infinity stones (as seen in Guardians of the Galaxy ) to fill his infinity gauntlet, which would give him amazing powers. Thanos is able to absorb, project and manipulate cosmic energy, allowing him to use a range of abilities including telekinesis and telepathy. Since he’s also a technology genius, he can teleport, time-travel and journey to alternate universes. Aside from Thanos’ role in Part 1, not too much is known about the plot of Part 2 .

With 67 characters at their disposal, Avengers 3 and 4 need an epic name to match the hype. Will at least one of the films stick with Infinity War? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
