According to the latest evidence spotted by "The RealZephyrss" on X, the "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" repository recently saw various activities on the Steam platform, which may suggest new changes to the game. It was revealed that Ubisoft was the one who made these changes on Valve's Steam storefront, centering on uploading four new versions of a "micro trailer" featuring a single gameplay.
This "micro trailer" is the video that automatically plays by default when the game's listing is opened from a client, offering a preview of the title when visiting its page via a browser or the Steam app, according to GameRant.
As per the report, games that are already 12 years of age rarely see any repository updates from their developers, and this may represent more than an update to the game's listing.
Additionally, a recent data scrape by SteamDB revealed that Ubisoft also made changes to the game's Steam content packages last June 4 and 12, but it remains undisclosed by the company.
Speculations remain that "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" is getting a remake from Ubisoft, especially with these recent changes in Steam's repository of the game. However, it is not yet confirmed by the developers.
Will Ubisoft Bring The Remake Before Its Anniversary?
One of the recent teasers from Ubisoft was considered evidence of the "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's" remake as the company shared a screenshot of the title using an outdated trend. Many believed that this was not Ubisoft simply being late to the trend and looking to catch up, but a hint about the next experience it was developing.
"Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" was originally released on October 29, 2013, and it is around four months away from its 12th anniversary later this year. The game was previously approved by the company for a remake back at the start of the decade, and there were many reports that shared initial evidence of the project dating back to 2023.
Ubisoft making changes to the game's repository four months ahead of its anniversary is suspicious enough. Moreover, the company has ample time to finalize the work behind the game and the promotional materials to be used for it.
