‘Arrow’ Season 5: Ex-WWE Wrestler Cody Rhodes Joins ‘Arrow’ As New Villain

Last week during Heroes & Villains Fanfest in New Jersey, Stephen Amell announced former WWE wrestler Cody Rhodes will join the cast of Arrow Season 5. Thanks to a picture posted on Stardust’s Twitter account, we now know he’ll be a brand new villain. Rhodes (aka Stardust) is working out in the gym (of course) but take a close look at the back of his sweatshirt. It reads “Team Rhodes” and “Destroy Queen,” which means he’s definitely not going to be joining Arrow’s team of new vigilantes.

Cody Rhodes resigned from the WWE this May, but before he departed, his supervillain stick attracted the likes of Amell who is a huge wrestling fan. Their impending match was first teased on Monday Night Raw when Stardust leaps into the crowd and pie faced Amell.

The two went head to head at SummerSlam after drawn out beef across social media that ended with the Green Arrow taking down Stardust in the ring.

“I'm so fired up for this guy; he and I haven't really had much of a chance to talk about it but we've been friends for a little over a year now. I know that Cody has really wanted to get into the acting business. He went to LA, he read for a part, and his deal closed yesterday and the dude is going to be on Arrow and I'm so fired up,” told fans earlier this month.

At this point it’s still unclear which villain Rhodes will portray. However, since Arrow is supposed to be going back to its roots for Season 5, he likely won’t have superpowers. Rhodes joins Chad L Coleman as a new mystery villain, while Artemis , Wild Dog and The Vigilante join Arrow on his quest to save Star City.
