According to Apple suppliers, the next Apple Watch 2 is slated to launch sometime in September or October. However, according to DigiTimes, smartwatch component makers for Apple are barely making a profit from the small orders.

The conservative orders for the next generation of Apple Watch is due to the rapid fall of smartwatch demand. Compared to the anticipation for the original Apple Watch in April 2015, watch sales have fallen to 1.6 million this year compared to 3.6 million last year.

As for the specs of the Apple Watch 2, rumors suggest the next watch will feature a faster processor, better battery life, improved display and a slew of new features like GPS and built-in cellular connectivity. Design-wise, expect the Apple Watch 2 to share a very similar design to the current generation.
